In April, photographer Masataka Ishida held an exhibition at JULY TREE in Shinsen, Tokyo, consisting of 36 photographs of people and cityscapes in Brixton and other cities, and sound system events he visited in 1984. We interviewed Ishida about his memories of that time and the history of lovers’ rock.
